Walk Kansas 2015
Changing a few choices each day can help create a healthier lifestyle. Small steps can bring big rewards, and participating in Walk Kansas could be the motivation you need to get started!
Only 48% of people living in Kansas meet the minimum goal for physical activity, and just 19% of Kansans eat enough fruits and vegetables daily. Recent statistics reveal that 65% of adults are overweight or obese and 71% have high blood pressure. Chronic disease is responsible for more than 70% of health care expenditures in our state.
Healthy lifestyle choices such as being physically active, eating more healthfully, maintaining a recommended weight, and managing stress more effectively can delay or prevent chronic disease.
